The first requirement is an ABA membership. The ABA offers a 30 day trial
membership for only $25. This entitles you to race single point races at the
specific track where the trial membership is purchased. This is a one time
only trial membership and during the initial 30 days you must convert to
full year membership status to continue racing beyond the first 30 days.
Conversion fee is an additional $25. The trial membership is no longer
offered at Peninsula Indoor BMX; as the ABA now has a FREE one day trial
membership that offers a rider the opportunity to try BMX without purchasing
a membership, and the rider needs to only pay the track's daily class entry
fee... Purchasing a full membership you are covered by a secondary medical
insurance policy. You can race at all ABA tracks nationwide, receive monthly
the AMERICAN BMXer magazine with current point standings and nationwide race
coverage. Full year memberships are available for $45 and some tracks no
longer will sell temporary memberships due to the extra $5 cost in attaining
full year membership when entering the sport via using the temporary
membership....
Once you become an ABA member your only other cost will be the race day
entry fees. The entry fee entitles you to race three rounds or Motos, earn
points and WIN trophies. Race fees at most outdoor tracks are $10 for Class
and $10 for Cruiser and $3 for Open Classes. You must race class to race the
open classes. The overhead costs in operating an indoor facility several
years ago pushed the entry fees for winter indoor racing to $15 for Class,
and $15 for Cruiser, and $5 for Open Classes...
